It's Done.

The Film Festival has come and gone, and I must say it went quite well...

The kids worked really hard this summer to produce 10+ films for your downloading pleasure (These will be posted ASAP) so when your having a drink with your buddies at work, make sure you bring up the kids at Summer Tech and the great films they made this year. I couldn't be prouder of anything I've ever been involved in as I am of the kids at Summer Tech, and I don't think anything I do on my own will ever compare to the passion and fire that fueled the kids through these films.

In other news, as the White Stripes once said in a song: “I know it I said it once but it bears repeating now, I fell in love with a girl!” But before anything could blossom, we had to go our separate ways. We’ll always have New York! Ironically, as a parting gift, she gave me some lotion for ‘pain,’ but it doesn’t quite reach my heart. For the first time in my life I managed to stop half way through running away. I turned back down those stairs and I ran to her room to say good-bye properly. Does anything beat a summer crush? I should have some pictures up of our short adventure together sometime soon.

So, I’ve returned to Texas and it’s back to work as usual on Monday, the return of my calm life in the nurturing bosom of “working silently” on my art, refining my craft until it’s what I deem presentable. Maybe this time next year a one Soul Meridian will be ready for release. I just found a flyer for the Tokyo Anime Festival that I got in Ottawa last year, and the “Brain Child” churns the grinding wheel another few steps. The dream of being a man of the world comes a bit closer; the power of narrative will be the sails of my ship...

Things may get a bit quiet around here now that the chaos of Summer Tech has closed to an end, but that only means I’m working on my films, and nothing of note has happened. Just finished Book 5 Harry Potter.

At this time I would like to thank the Staff at Summer Tech for just being who they are, and becoming some of my dearest friends. I love you guys! I hope to see you all again next year!

PS. The Mathematicians freaking Rock! Thanks again for the CD (and well, everything you do for me and Machinima) Ben, you rock!

It's 1:30 and I'm at the lab.

Ok it's late, I know, and the Summer Tech Film Fest is mere hours away...

This is the infamous 'crunch time' as people in the working world lovingly call it. It's late, I can barely read these lines as I type them, and there are overnight campers fighting over voice over 'clean air' space all around me. Good times.

I had a really good weekend, but I'll have to save those details for when I can type without going cross-eyed.
