Buddy of DoQ: Thoughts on Life, Machinima, and Everything
The Wrong Direction, and Fresh Faces
Friday, October 26, 2007, 04:24 PM - Machinima
Have you ever woken up one morning, looked at your personal little project and say to your self, "Damn, I'm going in the wrong direction!" That's what happened to me over the week, after playing a few games into the wee hours while I was supposed to be resting up for work. I've now been totally influenced by the art design of Zelda DS that I want ever so badly to tackle a similar style myself. I woke up still in a hazzy dream where tiny little low-poly ninjas were beating up a band of tiny little low-poly pirates on the high...err... low seas! It was crazy awesome! So I got to thinking about how hard it would be to Machinima something up in this style without an engine that caters to such low specs, and although I still don't have any clue as to how, I still want to give it a try anyway. Like that one time...

I'd like to take this opportunity to announce, on the sly, that we have a new member on the DoQ team! Lord Barricus (Barry Craig) has taken up his mighty pen, and is currently writing a show currently known as, "For Science!" The first draft of the initial script had us weak in the knees; we're suckers for that science type stuff. It has a real retro vibe, and prominently features the classic American holiday avian table center piece in a variety of, fun, plot-twisting ways. The idea is to keep it short and sweet, releasing episodes once or twice a month until the conclusion. More info as it becomes available, I expect we'll be pushing this one a little harder than previous DoQ works.
